How to change your business information on Google

Wrong opening hours or an old phone number costs you customers quietly — nobody calls to tell you. Updating the details takes minutes, but a few changes need care because they can put your listing under review.

Where to make the change

Search your business name while signed in with the account that manages the listing, or open the Google Business Profile app. You will see your profile with edit options for information, hours, photos, services and products.

Safe changes you can make any time

  • Opening hours and special holiday hours
  • Photos and your logo
  • Services, products and descriptions
  • Posts and updates
  • Website link

Changes that need care

Business name, address and category changes are reviewed and can suspend a listing if they look like an attempt to game the system. Change one thing at a time, make it match your real signage and paperwork, and wait for approval before changing anything else.

Moving to a new address

Do not create a new listing. Update the address on the existing one so you keep your reviews and history. Expect to verify again, and update your website, invoices and directory listings to the new address in the same week so everything matches.

When somebody else edited your listing

Google accepts suggestions from the public, so hours or details sometimes change without you. Check your profile monthly. If something is wrong, correct it and check the "Updates from Google" area for pending suggestions.

Keep every place consistent

Your name, address and phone number should be written identically on your listing, your website and every directory. Mismatched details weaken trust with both customers and Google. A website you control makes this easy: change it once and point everything at it.
